Johnny had been in restaurants since he a was a kid and Susannah had worked as a concierge at The Breakers and as an
architectural drafter. After the children came along they quickly realized that evening shifts were going to take
away family time once school started, so when a close friend suggested buying a restaurant together a lunchtime venue was sought.
Johnny recently retired but Susannah and her amazing team are here to feed our very loyal, and hungry customers! People don't just come from local offices and homes to D'Best Sandwich Shop, but will travel from Jupiter, Wellington and Fort Lauderdale for their favorite subs. Just recently Susannah was surprised after she wished a customer a good afternoon and he said he was taking his cheesesteak to eat by his father's graveside because when his dad was alive it was something they used to do together; get cheesesteaks from D'Best and eat together! One day a new dad came directly from the hospital where his wife had just given birth; she'd finally been given permission to eat and all she wanted was one our subs! We hope the baby is doing well and nearly grown enough to enjoy our food!
In October 2022 D'Best Sandwich Shop will have been operating for 20 years!!!
Johnny and Susannah bought D'Best Sandwich Shop in October of 2007. The restaurant had already been a popular local spot for 4 years so they didn't
need to change much. Johnny being Greek improved the Greek salad adding
real kalamata olives and they added a few specialty subs like the eggplant,
but the cheesesteaks, pulled turkey and home-roasted beef stayed the same.
